Some of these bodies include the California State Board of Nursing and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Each of these entities has its own set of rules and requirements for approval, and it is essential for any aspiring institution to meet them before they can start offering programs. The term "allied health" is used to refer to healthcare professions that do not fall under the traditional categories of nursing, dentistry, and medicine, as defined by federal code.
